Shawna Lynn Boller and her family recently moved back home to North Bay from Toronto to pursue her lifelong dreams.

After successfully obtaining a Gourmet Cooking And Catering diploma with Ashworth University, Shawna Lynn opened Roll Me Dough Sweet Shop. “As far back as I can remember, I’ve been in the kitchen, cooking and baking.”

Shawna Lynn’s mother was ill and did not venture outdoors so the two spent many hours in the kitchen, bonding while her mother shared the skills that her mother had taught her. “The recipes I use in my shop are my grandmothers, Elizabeth Watters recipes, which she passed down to my mother then to me.”

Shawna Lynn began her career path by selling her goods at rummage sales and bake sales. “The outcome was overwhelmingly positive and word-of-mouth quickly grew.”

Shawna Lynn’s grandfather has been a huge influence in her life as well. “My grandfather, Bernard (Bunny) Watters owned a restaurant here in North Bay for many years and provided me with the financial direction I required.  He is my inspiration.” Shawna Lynn received a grant from The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund and a loan from Casse Popular.

Roll Me Dough Sweet Shop also sells diabetic goods. “I have many family members in my family who are diabetic so it was only natural to make sugar free goods a big part of my menu.” Besides specializing in diabetic good, Shawna Lynn also offers delivery to anywhere in North Bay. “A pick up service is also available though.”

Shawna Lynn says that she is thankful for her family’s support. “My husband, Mark is very supportive and my three children are so excited for their mommy.”
